Skin Care for Normal to Oily skin.

From personal experience I can recommend a skin care routine that combats my oily skin. Huurrrraaayyy!!

Oily skin needs to be taken care off carefully as it has over-productive sebaceous glands which causes the production of oil. Even Normal skin can have oily T -zones at times. In some cases you could have oilier skin all over your face leading to spots and shiny skin. The good side to having oily skin is your skin ages slower (Your friends will be jealous :).

Step One: Firstly I would say to wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night so oil doesn't build up clogging pores and causing breakouts.

Step Two: I would recommend washing your face with a gentle facial wash. I use "Neutrogena Visibly clear pink grapefruit facial wash"".
Neurogena say's: Help eliminate spots and black heads with a fresh clean feel.
I would have to agree it also smell's lovely too.

Step Three(Optional): I would have to say I am not so keen on using an exfoliator as it tends to over-dry my skin. So be careful when exfoliating as it can cause over-drying which causes even more oil to be produced. Also if you want to exfoliate limit it to once or twice every week or two week's.

If you want to use an exfoliator I would say to use "Simple spotless skin triple action face wash" as it contain's little bead's that won't be too harsh on oily skin. It contains Witch Hazel which helps tone pores, Zinc which absorbs excess oils.

It you would like a natural exfoliator you could use water and brown sugar. This would be a very basic way to remove dead skin cells also you benefit from not applying harsh chemicals to your skin.

Step Four: At the moment I have removed using a toner from my routine. This seems be working well for my skin leaving this step out.

Step Five: Moisturizers: People seem to think oilier skin do not need to moisture but this is not the case as when your skin is dehydrated the sebaceous glands produce more oils to compensate.

When my skin is more oily than usual I use "Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.
I find this really helps my oily skin it hydrates my skin and mattifie's my skin so I am not shiny a few hours later.

Clinque's Moisturizing Gel

When my skin is less oily I use "Nivea Lotion" which in non greasy and is a light moisturizer.

Nivea lotion maintains your natural moisture level.
When purchasing products for oily skin look for:
  • Non Comedogenic which doesn't block your pores.
  • Also look for Oil Free Products which are water and not oil based.
  • Try giving products a go which contain natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals to upset your skin.
Hope this helps. Also I am not saying this routine will work 100% for you. I am just sharing what works for  my oily skin.
